Wireless Repeating Function (WDS)

You can set the R6200 WiFi Router up to be used as a wireless access point (AP). Doing this enables the router to act as a wireless repeater. A wireless repeater connects to another wireless router as a client where the network to which it connects becomes the ISP service.

Wireless repeating is a type of Wireless Distribution System (WDS). A WDS allows a wireless network to be expanded through multiple access points instead of using a wired backbone to link them. The following figure shows a wireless repeating scenario.
