Best Shot Selector (BSS)

The options in the “best-shot selector” (BSS) menu are recommended for situ- ations in which inadvertent camera movement can produce blurred pictures, or when parts of the image are prone to under- or over-exposure.

Camera takes five shots each time shutter-release button is pressed,

 

but only picture that best meets selected criterion is saved. Flash turns

 

off automatically and focus and white balance for all photos are deter-

 

mined by first picture in each series. Recommended for high-contrast

Restrictions on BSS

BSS turns off when the self timer is activated ( 20) or a setting other than Single is selected for Continuous ( 61).

At settings other than Off, the current BSS setting is indicated by an icon in the display ( 4–5).
