Press MENU button in (auto shooting) mode to select Noise reduction ( 74), and then press .

At slower shutter speeds, “noise” in the form of randomly-spaced, brightly-colored pixels may ap- pear in pictures, particularly in shadows. When you take pictures in dark places, noise reduction can be used to reduce noise at slow shutter speeds.

Select On or Off and press .

Restrictions on Noise Reduction

When shooting pictures using the following options, Noise reduction has no effect:

BSS ( 84) is On.

Auto bracketing is Auto bracketing or WB bracketing ( 88).

Continuous setting is other than Single ( 82).

Sensitivity (ISO Equivalency)

When raising sensitivity ( 87), “noise” may appear in a picture.

In this case, noise in pictures taken at slow shutter speeds will be reduced automatically when Noise reduction is On.
