Scene Mode

Sports Assist

(sports assist) mode is used for dynamic action shots that capture moving objects. The assist menu lets you freeze the action in a single shot or record motion in a series of pictures.

Rotate the mode dial to and press the MENU but- ton ( 28).

The following sports assist modes are available:

Sports

While shutter-release button is held down, pictures are recorded at rate of up to about 2.5 frames per second.

•Camera takes 21 shots in a series when Image quality is NOR- MAL and Image size is 5M (2592 × 1944).

•Focus, exposure, and white balance are determined by first shot in each series.

•When the ( ) battery level indicator is displayed in the monitor, consecutive shooting speed will be slow.

Sport spectator

Sport spectator is ideal for capturing those instants when you have no time to compose the picture. Use at ranges of about 3 m - .

• While shutter-release button is held down, pictures are recorded at rate of up to about 2.5 frames per second. Number of shots

that can be taken is the same as for

(Sports) mode.

•When the ( ) battery level indicator is displayed in the monitor, consecutive shooting speed will be slow.

Sport composite

Each time shutter-release button is pressed, camera takes sixteen consecutive shots at rate of about 3.5 frames per second. Camera arranges pictures in four rows (one shot: 648 × 486) to form a single picture (5M: 2592 × 1944). Focus, exposure, and white balance are determined by first shot in each series.

Sports Assist

In (Sports) or (Sport composite) mode, Auto-focus mode is locked to Con- tinuous AF ( 94) and focus area is locked in the center of the frame. The camera focuses continuously, until AF/AE lock is set by pressing the shutter-release button half- way.
