The Basics of Shooting and Playback

Step 1 Turn the Camera On

1Press the power switch to turn on the camera.
The lens extends and the monitor turns on.
2Check the battery level indicator and the

number of exposures remaining.

The number of pictures that can be taken is displayed.
C is displayed when n o memory ca rd is inser ted in the c amera, an d images ar e saved in t he
internal memory (approx. 25 MB).
The number of exposures remaining depends on the amount of available memory in the
internal memory or memory card, and also varies depending on the image quality and
image size (determined by the image mode setting; A55, E23).
Display Description
bBattery level high.
BBattery level low.
Prepare to replace the batteries.
Battery
exhausted.
Cannot take pictures.
Replace the batteries.
