
Using the Flash
jThe B (Off) IndicatorNote the following when lighting is poor and the flash is off (B).
•Place the camera on a flat, level surface or use a tripod (recommended).
•The W is displayed when the camera automatically increases sensitivity to minimize blur caused by slow shutter speed (c 6). Pictures taken when W is displayed may be slightly mottled.
jNote on Using the FlashLight from the flash reflected from particles of dust or other matter in the air may appear in pictures as bright specks. If this occurs, turn the flash off and try again.

• Blinks: Flash charging. Wait a few seconds and try again.
• Off: Flash will not fire when picture is taken.

Use flash modes other than auto with
When flash mode is set to B or D, Electronic VR (c 92) will be enabled according to shooting conditions and may be applied to blurred pictures when they are recorded (L is displayed in the monitor when shooting).
Electronic VR can be set to [Off] in the [Electronic VR] option of the shooting menu (c 92).
