OPERATION
LISTENING AT HIGHER VOLUMES
Achieving a reasonable volume of sound in a large room requires more amplifi er power than it does
in a small room. It is possible to turn the volume up so high that the amplifi er runs out of power.
This creates “clipping” distortion, which will make treble sound very harsh and unmusical.
When you hear harsh-sounding treble from any good loudspeaker, turn the volume down immedi-
ately! Those harsh sounds are masking much more powerful ultra-high-frequency sound spikes,
which will quickly damage any fi ne loudspeaker. You are much less likely to damage a loudspeaker
driven by a large amplifi er because it will be very loud before any clipping distortion is produced.
To clean the enclosure, use a dampened soft cloth or paper towel. To clean the grille, use a gentle
vacuum cleaner.
