PLACEMENT

THE BOUNDARY EFFECT

Placing an SW10 or SW12 in a corner can powerfully affect the way a listener perceives bass response. Known as the boundary effect, a placement close to a wall/ceiling boundary or near a corner-wall boundary will emphasize certain bass frequencies, while canceling others. This effect can make the SW10 or SW12 sound excessively boomy and inaccurate to some listeners, while to others it just seems like more bass sound. Some listeners prefer to place the subwoofer (or subwoofers) near the same location of the main left/right channel loudspeakers.

Because all rooms are unique, and people have different expectations with regard to audio quality, some experimentation may be necessary with regard to placement and control settings.
