Setting up IPP printing with Windows 2000/XP/Server
2003
With Internet Printing Protocol (IPP), print jobs are sent to the
Fiery over the Internet.
IPP printing is supported directly for Windows 2000/XP/Server
2003 computers. IPP printing is not supported on Windows
NT 4.0.
Note:The IPP setup procedures are performed after installing the
appropriate printer drivers (see “To install the PostScript or PCL
printer driver for Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003” on page 1-44).
Before you begin
1. Prepare the Fiery for TCP/IP printing.
2. Make sure the Fiery is configured for IPP printing. For more information,
see Chapter 4 of the Configuration Guide.
3. Specify the printing destination on your computer.
To set up IPP printing with Windows
2000/XP/Server 2003
1. Windows 2000: Click Start, choose Settings, and then choose Printers.
Windows XP: Click Start and choose Printers and Faxes.
Windows Server 2003: Click Start, choose Control Panel, and then choose
Printers and Faxes.
2. Windows 2000: Double-click the Add Printer icon and click Next.
Windows XP: Click Add Printer.
Windows Server 2003: Choose Add a printer
3. Select Network printer and click Next.
