To power the system using batteries, open the R speak- er’s back cover and insert the batteries into the compart-

ment as indicated by the polarity markings (+ and –) inside. Replace the cover and set the slide switch on the R speaker to the battery symbol.

Caution: Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries (standard, alkaline, or rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries of different capacities.

To power the system using an AC adapter, connect the adapter’s 2.1 mm inner diameter/5.5 mm outer diameter plug to the R speaker’s 6VDC jack, and plug the adapter into a standard AC outlet. Set the slide switch on the R speaker to the adapter symbol.

Caution: You must use an AC adapter that supplies 6 volts and delivers at least 100 milliamps. Its center tip must be set to negative, and its plug must correctly fit the R speaker’s 6VDC jack. The recommended adapter meets these specifications. Using an adapter that does not meet these specifications could seriously damage the speakers or the adapter.
