Taking Pictures using Night Portrait Mode
The Night Portrait mode combines the
electronic flash with a “slow shutter” mode.
This unique feature allows you to photograph
close subjects against the natural night
background. Since the shutter speed is slow,
we highly recommend using a tripod to steady
the camera.
The subject should be positioned within the
available flash range. When setting to
ISO100, (Tele:
0.98 feet (30cm) - 4.59 feet
(140 cm), Wide: 0.98 feet (30 cm) - 7.87 feet
(2.4 m)) .
We recommend pressing the zoom button
(W) before taking a picture.

Set the mode dial to Night portrait
mode [ ].
2Take a picture.
• The recording method is the same as in
“Taking Pictures”. (P25 )
• Whi te balance is set to [AUTO] in the default position. You can change the setting. (P4 9)
• Whe n flash is set to Forced OFF [ ], you can capture the night illumination scenery it self
with slower shutter speed. (Max: abo ut 8 seconds)
• Whe n ta king a picture in a dark place, noise may appear. To avoid noise, we recommend
setting the picture adjustment to [NATURAL]. (P48)
