LEICA DC LENS
The Leica DC lens inherits both its name and its outstanding quality from Leica Camera AG, maker of lenses renowned in the film camera world for their superb performance and compact size. The LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR, LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT, and LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON lenses are featured in LUMIX cameras. Each of these sophisticated lens systems includes several aspherical lenses to compensate for spherical aberration. And each features an advanced multi-coating process that is applied to lens surfaces to help prevent fogging caused by flare and ghosts caused by excessive light.
manufactured using measurement instruments and quality assurance systems that have been certified by Leica Camera AG based on the company's quality standards.

Venus Engine V and Venus Engine HD
The imaging power of LUMIX has evolved even further. Improved circuitry greatly reduces picture noise while preserving exceptional resolution, sharpness and color reproduction. The new Venus Engine V also introduces a new circuit that makes Face Recognition possible. And the Venus Engine HD boasts two CPUs which achieve the long-time HD motion picture recording in AVCHD Lite (MPEG-4/H.264) while maintaining low power consumption.
