Preparation
Turn on the television andselect the appropriate video inputon the
television to suit the connections for the player.
1Press [(._ POWER] to turn on the unit.
2Press [_] to open the disc tray.
3Place the disc on the disc tray.
4Press [1_] (play).
The disc traycloses and play begins.
•To stop playPress{11](mpage 11, Resume function).•To pause play []Press[I I] duringplay.Press[1_](play) to restart play.
Playing CD-R and CD-RW
This unit can play CD-DA (digital audio) format audio CD-R
and CD-RW that have been finalized'* upon completion of re-
cording.
It may not be able to play some CD-R or CD-RW due to the
conditionof the recording.
*Finalizing is a process that enables CD-R/CD-RW players to
playaudio CD-R and CD-RW.

oThe disc continues to rotate while the menu is displayed even after
youfinish playing an item.Press [m]when youfinish to preserve the
unit'smotor and yourtelevision screen.
eVolume may be lowerwhen playing DVDs than when playing other
discs orduring television broadcasts.
Ifyou turn the volume up onthe television or amplifier, ensure you
reduce the volume again before playing other sources so that a
sudden increase in output does not occur•

DVDs can have several menus. The menu displayed when you press
[TOP MENU] may be different from the menu displayed when you
press [MENU].
