Appendix 7 - VersaCam IC-360 External Device Connection Information

1. Connections and Connectors

The IC-360 makes use of two connectors on the top of the camera to make connections to external devices. The following illustration and text detail the function of these connectors.

RS-232 Connector

Line Name

Line Description

RS232 Receive (RXD)

This input conforms to normal RS232C specifications for a

“receive” line. At present, the IC-360 uses this connection

only to receive audio from the optional audio module.

RS232 Transmit (TXD)

This output conforms to normal RS232C specifications for a

“transmit” line. Baud rate and specific strings sent are

configured in the camera’s administration page. While

designed to control the optional audio module, this port can

be configured for many other purposes by the user.

Ground (GND)

Ground reference for Pins 1 and 2.

External Sensor Connectors

Line Name

External Sensor 1 + Input (S1+)

Line Description

This pin is connected through a 330 ohm series resistor to the anode of a Toshiba TPL504A or similar photo-coupler input diode.

In combination with Pin 2, which is connected to the cathode of the input diode, the signal here causes the Sensor
