Installing the Battery

Install the battery provided. When using the camera for the first time, charge the battery before installing.

zSlide the battery chamber/card cover in the direction indi- cated by the arrow to open the battery chamber/card cover.

xInsert the battery with the label facing towards the lens while using the side of the battery to press the battery lock lever in the direction indicated by the arrow.

When you have inserted the battery, check that it is firmly secured by the battery lock lever.

cClose the battery chamber cover.

To remove the battery, release the battery by using your finger to press the battery lock lever in the same direction as when you inserted the battery, and pull the battery out.

If you intend to use the camera continuously for a long period, use of the AC adapter D-AC7 (optional) is recommended. (p.15)

Caution • The rechargeable lithium-ion battery D-LI7 is exclusively for powering this camera. If you use any other battery the camera may be damaged or malfunction.

Do not remove the battery when the camera is turned on.

If you do not intend to use the camera for a long time, remove the battery.

If the camera is left without the battery for a long time, the date setting will be reset.

Insert the battery correctly. If the battery is incorrectly ori- ented, it may cause malfunction.
