Configuration Example

Note:

Please use the following example of the popular Thorens TD 295 Mk IV turntable equipped with an Ortofon Super OM 40 (Moving Magnet) cartridge as a guideline.

Thorens TD 295 Mk IV specifications

Tonearm and lead capacitance:

160pF

Ortofon Super OM 40 specifications

Recommended load resistance:

47kΩ

Recommended load capacitance:

200pF-400pF

Rated output voltage:

4.0mV

SXV2 configuration

Resistance loading:

47000Ω

Capacitance loading:

74pF

(SXV2 capacitance + turntable capacitance = total load capacitance 74pF + 160pF = 234pF, satisfying the recommended 200pF-400pF)

Gain:50dB

(based on Sensitivity bracket of 4.0mV±50% ⇒ 2.0mV-6.0mV)

RIAA equalisation curve:

Normal

DIP Switch Setting (left channel)
