Sound
1 Press .
2 Select [Setup] > [Audio] to access the audio setup opt ions.
• [Night Mode]: Select quiet or full dyna mic sound. Night mode decr eases the volume of loud
sound and increases the vol ume of soft sound (such as speech).
• [Neo 6]: Enable or disable a surro und sound effect which is co nverted from 2.0 cha nnel audio.
• [HDMI Audio]: Set an HDMI audio format wh en this player is connected t hrough HDMI.
• [Digital Audio]: Select an audio format for t he sound output when th is player is connected
through a digital conne ctor (coaxial).
• [PCM Downsampling]: Set the sampling rate fo r PCM audio output when t his player is
connected through a di gital connector (coaxia l).
Note
• For settings relate d to HDMI, the TV m ust be connected t hrough HDMI.
• Night mode is only availa ble for Dolby encoded DVD a nd Blu-ray discs .
Network (installation, status...)

2 Select [Setup] > [Network] to access the network setup options.
• [Network Installation]: Start a wired or wireless ins tallation to make the net work work.
• [View Network Sett ings]: Display the current n etwork status.
Preference (languages, parental control...)
1 Press .
2 Select [Setup] > [Preference] to access the preference setu p options.
• [Menu language]: Select a n onscreen display menu la nguage.
• [Audio]: Select an au dio language for video.
• [Subtitle]: Select a subtitle language fo r video.
• [Disc Menu]: Select a menu language for a vid eo disc.
• [Parental Control]: Restrict access to discs that are encoded with ratings. Input “0000” to
access the restric tion options. To play all discs irr espective of the ratin g, select level “8”.
• [Screen Saver]: Enable or disable screen saver mode. If e nabled, the screen ent ers idle mode
after 10 minutes of inacti vity (for example, in pause o r stop mode).
• [Auto Subtitle Shift]: Enable or disable subtitle shift. If enabled, the subtitle position is changed
automatically to fit the T V screen (this feature wor ks with some Philips T Vs only).
• [Change Password]: Set or change a password to play a restricted disc. Input “0000” if you do
not have a password or if you have forgot ten your password.
