6 Troubleshooting
Warning

To keep the warranty valid, never try to repair the player yourself.
If you have problems using this player, check the following points before you request service. If you still
have a problem, register your player and get support at www.philips.com/welcome.
If you contact Philips, you will be asked for the model and serial number of this player. The model
number and serial number are on the back of this player. Write the numbers here:

Main unit

The buttons on this player do no t work.
Disconnect this player fr om the power supply for a few minute s, and then reconnec t.

Picture

No picture.
Make sure that the TV ha s an HDMI connector, and this p layer is connected to the T V with an
HDMI cable.
Make sure that the TV is s witched to the correc t source input for this playe r.
Make sure that the HDMI c able is not faulty. If it is faul ty, replace with a new HDMI c able.
On the remote control, p ress and then press “731” (numeric b uttons) to recover pictur e
display. Or wait for 10 seconds for auto r ecovery.
If this player is connected to a n unauthorized display d evice with an HDMI cab le, the audio and
video signals may not be outpu t.
 
M ake sure that the disc contains high-definition video.
Make sure that the TV sup ports high-de finition video.

Sound

No audio output from the TV.
Make sure that the TV ha s an HDMI connector, and this p layer is connected to the T V with an
HDMI cable.
Make sure that the TV is s witched to the correc t source input for this playe r.
No sound on HDMI connection.
You may not hear any sound from the HDMI o utput if the connect ed device is non-HDCP
compliant or only DVI-compatible.
No secondary audio output for picture-in-picture feature.
• When [Bitstream] under the [HDMI Audio] or [Digital Audio] menu is selected, inter active
sound like secondary sou nd for picture-in- picture feature is mu ted. Deselect [Bitstream].
