Troubleshooting
Warning

To keep the warranty valid, never try to repair the player yourself.
If you have problems using this player, check the following points before you request service. If you still
have a problem, register your player and get support at www.philips.com/welcome.
If you contact Philips, you will be asked for the model and serial number of this player. The model
number and serial number are on the back of this player. Write the numbers here:

No picture.
Refer to the TV user manual for how to sel ect the correct vi deo input channel.
Switch to the default mode if the prog ressive scan settin g or the TV system set ting is changed.
No sound output from the TV.
Make sure that the audio cables ar e connected to the audio i nput sockets that are gr ouped with
the selected vide o input sockets.
No sound during DivX video playback.
The audio codes are not suppor ted.
Disc or USB storage device cannot be read.
Make sure that this player suppor ts the disc or USB sto rage device. (Refer to “ Speci cations ” >
Playable media ”)
For a recorded disc, make sure that t he disc is nalized.
Recorded les (JPEG, MP3, WMA) cannot be played or read.
Make sure that the le was recorded in the format of UDF, ISO9660 , or JOLIET.
Make sure that the number of les does not exceed the limitatio n (648 les maxi mum).
Make sure that this player suppor ts these les. (Refer to “ Speci cations ” > “ Playable media ”)
DivX video les cannot be played.
Make sure that the DivX video le is complete and the le extensi on is correct.
DRM-protected video les that are stored on a USB ash drive cannot be played thr ough an
analog video connec tion (for example, compos ite, component, an d scart). Transfer the vid eo
content onto a suppor ted disc, or use an HDM I connection to play these
les.
DivX subtitles are not displayed correctly.
Make sure that the subtitle lename is the same as the vide o lename.
Make sure that the DivX video le and the subtitle le are saved under the same dir ectory.
Select the character set t hat supports the s ubtitle. (Refer to [Preference] > [Di vX Subtitle] )
