Troubleshooting

If you have problems using this player, check the following points before you request service. If you still
have a problem, register your player and get support at www.philips.com/welcome.
If you contact Philips, you will be asked for the model and serial number of this player. The model
number and serial number are on the back of this player. Write the numbers here:

No picture.
Refer to the TV user m anual for how to select the cor rect video input c hannel.
Switch to the defaul t mode if the progressive s can setting or the TV s ystem setting is cha nged.
No sound output from the TV.
Make sure that the au dio cables are connec ted to the audio input socket s that are grouped wit h
the selected vid eo input sockets.
No sound during DivX video playback.
The audio codes are n ot supported.
Disc or USB storage device cannot be read.
Make sure that this p layer supports the di sc or USB storage device . (Refer to “ Specifications” >
Playable media”)
For a recorded disc , make sure that the disc is fina lized.
Recorded files (JPEG, MP3, WMA) cannot be played or read.
Make sure that the fil e was recorded in the for mat of UDF, ISO9660, or JOLIE T.
Make sure that the nu mber of files does not exceed the l imitation (648 files max imum).
Make sure that this p layer supports thes e files. (Refer to “ Specifications” > “Playable media”)
DivX video files cannot be played.
Make sure that the D ivX video file is complete.
Make sure that the file extension is correct.
DRM-protec ted video files that are s tored on a USB flash dr ive cannot be played through a n
analog video conne ction (for example, comp osite, component, a nd scart). Transfer the vi deo
content onto a suppor ted disc to play these fil es.
DivX subtitles are not displayed correctly.
Make sure that the su btitle filename is the s ame as the video filename .
Make sure that the Di vX video file and the subtitle fi le are saved under the same d irectory.
Select the char acter set that suppor ts the subtitle . (Refer to [Preference] > [DivX Subtitle])
