Troubleshooting
Warning

To keep the warranty valid, never try to repair the player yourself.
If you have problems using this player, check the following points before you request service. If you still
have a problem, register your player and get support at www.philips.com/welcome.
If you contact Philips, you will be asked for the model and serial number of this player. The model
number and serial number are on the back of this player. Write the numbers here:

No picture.
Refer to the TV user m anual for how to select the cor rect video input c hannel.
Switch to the defaul t mode if the progressive s can setting or the TV s ystem setting is cha nged.
No picture on HDMI connection.
If this player is connec ted to an unauthorized d isplay device, the audio/ video signal cannot be
output.
If the HDMI cable i s faulty, replace it with a n ew HDMI cable.
If you have changed the set ting for HDMI video reso lution, switch to it s default mode.
No sound output from the TV.
Make sure that the au dio cables are connec ted to the audio input socket s that are grouped
with the selec ted video input sockets .
No sound on HDMI connection.
If the connected d evice is non-HDCP comp liant or only DVI-compat ible, no sound can be
heard from the HD MI output.
Make sure that [HDMI Audio] is set to [On].
No sound during DivX video playback.
The audio codes are n ot supported.
Disc or USB storage device cannot be read.
Make sure that this p layer supports the di sc or USB storage device . (Refer to “ Specifications
> “Playable media”)
For a recorded disc , make sure that the disc is fina lized.
Recorded files (JPEG, MP3, WMA) cannot be played or read.
Make sure that the fil e was recorded in the for mat of UDF, ISO9660, or JOLIE T.
Make sure that the nu mber of files does not exceed the l imitation (648 files max imum).
Make sure that this p layer supports thes e files. (Refer to “ Specifications” > “Playable media”)
