Hearing safety
Listen at a moderate volum e.
Using headphones at a hig h volume can impair you r hearing. This
product can produ ce sounds in decibel r anges that may cause he aring
loss for a normal perso n, even for exposure l ess than a minute. T he
higher decibel rang es are offered for tho se that may have already
experienced some he aring loss.
Sound can be deceiving. O ver time your heari ng ‘comfort level’
adapts to higher volume s of sound. So after pr olonged listeni ng, what
sounds ‘normal’ can a ctually be loud and h armful to your hear ing. To
guard against this , set your volume to a safe le vel before your hear ing
adapts and leave it the re.
To establish a safe volume level:
Set your volume control a t a low setting.
Slowly increase the s ound until you can hear i t comfortably a nd
clearly, without distortion.
Listen for reasonable pe riods of time:
Prolonged exposure t o sound, even at norm ally ‘safe’ levels, ca n also
cause hearing loss.
Be sure to use your equipm ent reasonably a nd take appropr iate
breaks.
Be sure to observe the follow ing guidelines when us ing your
headphones.
Listen at reasonable volumes for reasonable periods of time.
Be careful not to adjus t the volume as your hea ring adapts.
