Hearing safety
Listen at a moderate vo lume.
Using headphones a t a high volume can impa ir your hearing. Thi s
product can pr oduce sounds in decibe l ranges that may cau se hearing
loss for a normal per son, even for exposu re less than a minut e. The
higher decibel r anges are offered fo r those that may have alre ady
experienced som e hearing loss.
Sound can be deceiv ing. Over time your hea ring ‘comfort leve l’
adapts to higher vol umes of sound. So aft er prolonged list ening, what
sounds ‘normal’ c an actually be lou d and harmful to your he aring. To
guard against t his, set your volume to a s afe level before your hea ring
adapts and leave it t here.
To establish a safe volume leve l:
Set your volume contr ol at a low setting.
Slowly increase t he sound until you can h ear it comforta bly and
clearly, without distortion.
Listen for reasona ble periods of time:
Prolonged exposu re to sound, even at nor mally ‘safe’ levels , can also
cause hearing los s.
Be sure to use your equ ipment reasona bly and take appro priate
breaks.
Be sure to observe the fo llowing guidelines wh en using your
headphones.
Listen at reasonable volumes for reasonable periods of time.
Be careful not to adj ust the volume as you r hearing adapts .
Do not turn up the volu me so high that you can’ t hear what’s aroun d
you.
You should use caution or t emporarily di scontinue use in poten tially
hazardous si tuations. Do not use h eadphones while ope rating a
motorized vehicle , cycling, skateb oarding, etc.; i t may create a traffi c
hazard and is ill egal in many areas.
