Charge power

MIX has a built-in battery that can be charged
through the USB port of a computer.
As shown, connect the MIX to a PC.
Note
When you connect • MIX to a computer, you
are briefly prompte d to select: [Charge &
transfer] or [Charge & play].
• MIX autom atically applies [Charge & transfer],
if no new selection is mad e.
Battery level indicat ion
The display indicates the ap proximate levels of
the battery sta tus as follows:
100% 75% 50% 25% 0%
A flashing battery screen indicates »
that the battery is low. The player
saves all settings and switches off
within 60 seconds.
Note
Rechargeable bat teries have a limite d number •
of charge cycles. Bat tery life and numbe r of
charge cycles vary by us e and settings.
The charging animat ion stops and the
•
icon is displayed when the c harging process is
completed.
To conserve battery power and increase the
play time, do the following on MI X:
Set the backlight timer t o a low value •
(go to > [Display settings] >
[Screen off timer]).

First-time setup

The first time you connect MIX to a PC, install
Philips Device Manager on the PC. Over the
Internet, you can update the firmware of the
player through Philips Device Manager.
When you connect the MIX t o the PC for the
first time, a pop-up window appears:
1 Select InstallPhilips Device Manager.
2 Follow the on- screen instruc tions to
complete the install ation of the softwar e.
Note
The installation r equires you to agre e to the •
license terms.
If the pop-up window is not dis played
automatically:
1 Select My Computer (Windows XP /
Windows 2000) / Computer (Windows
Vista / Windows 7).
2 Right click on t he Philips GoGear MIX
icon.
3 Select Install Philips Device Manager.
4 Follow the on- screen instruc tions to
complete the install ation of the softwar e.
