Precaution

Parking brake interlock

Certain functions offered by this Navigation Sys- tem could be dangerous if used while driving. To prevent them being used while in motion, there is an interlock with your vehicle’s parking brake. If you attempt to use these functions during driv- ing, their onscreen touch keys may be indicated in gray and inoperable. If so, stop in a safe place, apply the parking brake, then operate.

To ensure safe driving

To avoid the risk of accident and the potential violation of applicable laws, the navigation system is not for use with a video screen (DVD video, TV, etc.) that is visible to the driver.

In some countries or states the viewing of images on a display inside a vehicle even by persons other than the driver may be illegal. Where such regulations apply, they must be obeyed.

Before viewing the DVD video using the naviga- tion unit’s built-in DVD player, first stop the vehi- cle in a safe place and apply the parking brake.

The display is controlled in combination with the brake to prevent the display of the video unless the parking brake is applied.
