Adjusting 13-band graphicequalizer
For CUSTOM1and CUSTOM2 equalizer
curves,you can adjust thelevel of each band.
!Aseparate CUSTOM1 curve can be cre-
atedfor each source. (The built-in CD
playerand the multi-CD player are set to
thesame equalizer adjustment setting
automatically.)If you make adjustments
whena curve other than CUSTOM2is se-
lected,the equalizer cur ve settings will be
memorizedin CUSTOM1.
!ACUSTOM2curve canbe created com-
monto all sources. If you make adjust-
mentswhen the CUSTOM2 curve is
selected,the CUSTOM2 curve will be up-
dated.
1 Recallthe equalizer curve you wantto
adjust.

2 PressAUDIO to select EQ2.
PressAUDIO until EQ2 appears in the display.
3 Presscor dto select the equalizer
bandto adjust.

4 Pressaor bto adjust the level of the
equalizerband.
Eachpress of aor bincreases or decreases
thelevel of the equalization band.

5 PressBAND to cancel the 13-band gra-
phicequalizer mode.
Using BBE sound
WithBBE, playback very closeto the original
soundcan be obtained by correction with a
combinationof phase compensation and
high-rangeboost for the delay of thehigh-fre-
quencycomponents and the amplitude devia-
tionoccurring during playback. This function
makesit possible to reproduce the dynamic
soundfield as if you are listening to a live per-
formance.
WithBBE sound processing technology, you
canadjust the level of BBE.
1 PressAUDIO to select BBE.
PressAUDIO until BBE appears in the display.
2 Pressato turn BBE on.
#Tocancel the BBE, press b.
3 Presscor dto adjust the level of BBE.
Eachpress of cor dincreases or decreases
thelevel of BBE.

Adjusting loudness
Loudnesscompensates for deficiencies in the
low-and high-sound ranges at low volume.
1 PressAUDIO to select LOUD.
PressAUDIO until LOUD appears in the dis-
play.
2 Pressato turn loudness on.
LOUD:ONappears in the display.
3 Pressbto turn loudness off.
LOUD:OFFappears in the display.
