Pioneer’s Pursuit of Perfection
Multi-channel sound can cause problemsÉ.
From bass to treble, from subwoofers and rear speakers, you hear the sound that the creator intended you to hear. This is the ideal of multi-channel audio. But various factors, such as speaker configuration and the listening environment, generally prevent the ideal from being achieved. Pioneer has developed Full Band Phase Control and Advanced MCACC to resolve these problems.

Digital Video Conversion
A high performance Digital Video Converter enables all analogue input video signals (composite, S-video and component) to be output via the HDMI terminal. The Video Scaler function performs upscaling of analogue video signals from 480i/p to a maximum of 1080p. The receivers also perform I/P Conversion that more naturally and smoothly represents the curved parts of images or letters that would
otherwise have jagged edges.
The result is that the receiver transmits extremely high quality video signals, from both digital and analogue inputs, to your PDP.
Advanced technology for high picture quality: Digital Video Converter, Video Scaler and I/P Conversion.
Fully compatible with the most advanced surround formats.
The LX Series receivers bring you the sensational sound that is only possible with the newest movie sound formats: Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. These formats achieve lossless sound that is
identical with the original studio-mastered sound, for stunning surround sound with unprecedented detail and depth.

World’s first*1 Full Band Phase Control for perfect phase harmony.
Pioneer’s phase control technology, developed to eliminate bass phasing problems in order to improve multi-channel sound fields, has taken another step forward with Full Band Phase Control. This innovative function corrects phase irregularities that occur in multi-unit speakers. Phase irregularities cause group delay, the delay of sound between the tweeter, midrange and woofer units. Full Band Phase Control also compensates for the differing sound characteristics among all the speakers you are using, achieving ideal surround sound in your home theatre.

Advanced MCACC automatically achieves the ideal surround space.
Advanced MCACC is the latest version of Pioneer’s original MCACC (Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration system). Designed to create a sound field ideal for surround sound reproduction, it was achieved by adding time axis analysis, Standing Wave Control and New LR Symmetrical Acoustic Equaliser to the original MCACC system. It compensates for distance, sound pressure level and frequency response differences of each speaker, and makes numerous other adjustments as well. Time axis analysis allows the system to distinguish between direct sound and room reverberation, for more precise adjustment, while Standing Wave Control eliminates the boominess that these sound waves can cause. The New LR Symmetrical Acoustic Equaliser enhances stereo accuracy. All this is done automatically at the touch of a button.

HDMI Control for convenient operation.
HDMI Control is a user-friendly function that lets you operate your home theatre system with a single remote control. By connecting the receiver to a compatible Pioneer PDP or the Blu-Ray Disc player via an HDMI cable, you can control the basic operations of these components with the PDP’s remote control.
HDMI 1.3a provides Deep Colour for finer colour reproduction.
The latest HDMI 1.3a digital interface supports the full digital transmission of highly detailed 1080p high definition video and 7.1-channel 24.5Mpbs audio data via a single cable. It also provides the benefits of Deep Colour, which supports 30- and 36-bit RGB (previously 24-bit), permitting much finer colour reproduction. With HDMI 1.3a, you enjoy more natural and beautiful video images.
