Playback a cassette

aInserta cassette into the cassette slot.
bPressthe PLAYGplayback button.
cTostop, press the STOPhbutton.
dToeject, Press the STOP/EJECT?button on the set.
DSomehired cassettes may have a poor picture/sound
quality.This is not a fault in your set. Please read the
section’Eliminating picture interference’.
DSomefunctions switch off automatically after awhile
(e.g.:Pause, Still Picture, Scanning). This helps to protect
thecassette and prevent unnecessary power consump-
tion.

NTSC Playback

Withthis set you can playback cassettes that have been
recordedon another video recorder in the NTSC standard.
Thisonly works for PAL-television sets which are suitable for a
picturefrequency of 60 Hz.
DuringNTSC playback ’60HZ’ appears in the display.
DDuringNTSC-playback some special features (e.g. still
picture)are not possible.

Tape position indication

aDuringplayback press the COUNTER button.
bSelectone of the following options:
’TIMEUSED’ to indicate the time used on the tape
’TIMELEFT’ to indicate the time left on the tape
’COUNTER’to indicate the actual position on the tape
DWiththe OK button,you can superimpose the actual
tapeposition on the TV screen.

Searching for tape position with picture

(picture search)

aDuringplayback, press the H(reverse)or I(for-
ward)button once or several times.
bTointerrupt at the position required, press the PLAYG
button.
DDuringpicture search, the picture quality is affected and
thesound is turned off.

Still picture/Slow motion

aPressthe STILLRbutton. A still picture appears on the
screen.
bEachtime you press STILLRagain the picture will
moveon one step.
cWhenyou hold the STILLRbutton the picture will be
playedin slow motion.
dWhenyou press the Ibuttonseveral times, you have
achoice of several playback speeds.
Duringslow motion the sound is switched off.

Searching for tape position without picture

(wind/rewind)

aStopthe tape with the STOPhbutton.
bPressthe H(reverse)or I(forward)button.
cTointerrupt at the position required, press the STOPh
button.

Instant View

Withthis function you can switch to picture search during
wind/rewind.
aIfyou hold the H(rewind)or I(wind)button dur-
ingwind or rewind, you will switch to picture search.
bIfyou release the button, the video recorder will
automaticallyswitch back to rewind or wind.
