Calibratethe S3 Stride Sensor
Optionalcalibration of the stride sensor can
improvethe accuracy of speed, pace and
distancemeasurements. It is recommended that
youcalibrate the stride sensor before using it
forthe first time, if there are significant
changesin your running style, or if the position
ofthe stride sensor on the shoe is dramatically
changed(e.g. if you have new shoes). You can
calibratethe stride sensor by running a known
distance,or by setting the calibration factor
manually.

Calibratestride sensor during training

(on-the-flycalibration): You can calibrate the
stridesensor at any phase of your training
sessionwith actual distance correction, when
youhave run a known distance, preferably more
than1000 meters, calibrate the stride sensor as
instructedin the user manual for the Polar
productin question.
Setcalibration factor manually: The
calibrationfactor is calculated as a ratio of the
actualdistance to the uncalibrated distance.
Forinstance if you run 1200 m and the Polar
productshows a distance of 1180 m, the
calibrationfactor is 1.000. Calculate the new
factoras follows: 1.000*1200/1180 = 1.017.
Themeasuring range for the factor is
0.500-1.500.
