Option #2

Two channel or Dolby Pro Logic receiver with no “Sub Out.”

If you elect to use the speaker level inputs, use two-conductor 16 gauge or thicker speaker wires. See your Polk dealer for wire recommendations.

Note that one of the speaker input terminals on the rear of the speaker is marked red (+) and the other black (–). Make certain that you connect the wire from the red (+) terminal of your receiver to the red (+) terminal on your speaker, and the wire from the black (–) terminal of the receiver to the black

(–)terminal on your speaker. Speaker wire has some indication (such as color coding, ribbing, or writing) on one of the two conductors to help maintain consistency. If your subwoofer doesn’t seem to produce much bass, it is most likely that one of the speaker wires is connected backwards. Double check all connections for correct polarity.

Strip 1/2" (12mm) of insulation from each of the two conductors on both ends to expose the bare wire. Twist the exposed wire of each conductor to form two unfrayed strands.

Connect the left and right front speaker outputs of your receiver to the speaker level inputs of the powered subwoofer using speaker wire.

Then, connect the left and right front speakers using speaker wire from the speaker level outputs from the powered subwoofer.

Connect the center channel speaker directly to the center channel output from your receiver.

Connect the rear surround satellites directly to the rear or surround channel outputs from your receiver.

The Polk Audio PSW121 is a powerful subwoofer designed to elevate your home audio experience, making it perfect for both music enthusiasts and movie lovers. With its advanced technologies and impressive specifications, the PSW121 stands out in the crowded market of home theater equipment.

At the heart of the PSW121 is its 12-inch Dynamic Balance driver. This driver is engineered to deliver deep, impactful bass that resonates in any space, ensuring a robust audio experience. Supporting this driver is a highly efficient built-in amplifier that delivers 300 watts of peak power, providing ample power for dynamic soundtracks and low-frequency effects in movies. The combination of these components ensures that the PSW121 can produce clean, distortion-free sound, even at higher volume levels.

Another critical feature of the PSW121 is its unique port design. The subwoofer utilizes a rear-firing port that enhances low-frequency response. This design allows for better sound dispersion and can help eliminate turbulence that may occur with front-facing ports. As a result, users can enjoy a seamless, rich bass experience throughout the listening area, whether they're watching an action-packed film or listening to their favorite music tracks.

The PSW121 is also equipped with Polk's proprietary technology, including a built-in crossover that allows users to adjust the frequency response to suit their specific preferences and room acoustics. This feature enables the subwoofer to blend seamlessly with other speakers in your audio setup, ensuring a coherent soundstage.

The construction quality of the PSW121 also deserves mention. It features a durable MDF enclosure that minimizes resonance, ensuring clean sound reproduction. Additionally, the sleek, modern design makes it an attractive addition to any home theater setup.

Connectivity is another strong point of the PSW121. It includes both line-level and speaker-level inputs, providing flexibility for various setups, whether you're connecting to a dedicated home theater receiver or integrating it within a multi-room audio system.

In summary, the Polk Audio PSW121 subwoofer combines impressive power, advanced technology, and thoughtful design to deliver a premium audio experience. Its features make it a versatile choice for audiophiles and casual listeners alike, ensuring heart-pounding bass that enhances any type of entertainment. Whether you're immersing yourself in the latest blockbuster or enjoying your favorite albums, the PSW121 is a formidable companion for your audio journey.
