Protective gloves (not provided) should be
worn during assembly.
ATTACHINGTHEBAR & CHAIN (If not
already attached)
WARNING: If received assembled,
repeat all steps to ensure yoursaw is properly
assembled and all fasteners are sec ure. Al-
ways wear gloves when handling the c hain.
Thechain is sharp and can c ut you even when
it is not moving!
1. Loosen and remove the chain brake
nuts and the chain brake from the saw.
2. Removethe plas tics hipping spacer (if
present).

3. Turn adjusting screw on bar counter-
clockwise to move the tensioning rack
asf ar as it will go toward the front of the
bar.

4. Slidethebar behind clutc h drum until bar
stops against clutch drum sprocket.

5. Preparethe chain by checking the proper
direction.Without following the illustration it
iseasy to place the chain on the saw in the
wrongdirection. Usethe illustration ofthe
chain to determine the proper direction.
