DKeepthe extension cord clear of operator and
obstaclesat all t imes. Do not expose cords to
heat, oil, water, orsharp edges.
DAvoid any body contact with any grounded
conductor, such as met al fences, or pipes, to
avoid the possibility of electric shock. Don’t
handle plug or unit with wet hands.
DDo not use with damaged cord or plug. If
powerhead is not working as it should, has
been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or
dropped into water, return it to your autho-

DGround Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI)
protection should be provided on t hec ircuit

ceptacles are available having built-in
GFCI protection and may be us ed for this
measure of safety.

DOUBLE INSULATION

CONSTRUCTION

Your powerhead should be double insulated
to help protect against electric shock.Double
insulation construction consists of two sepa-
rate “layers” of electrical insulation insteadof
grounding. Tools and appliances built with a
double insulation system are not intended to
be grounded.Safety precautions mustbe ob-
served when operating any electrical tool.
The double insulation system only provides
added protection against injury resulting from
an internal electrical insulation failure.
WARNING: All repairs to an electric
powerhead, including housing, switch,motor,
etc., must be diagnosed and repai red by qual-
ified service personnel. Replacement parts
fora double insulated appl iance must be iden-
tical to the parts they replace. Adouble i nsu-
lated appliance is marked with the words
“double insulation” or “double insulated”. The
symbol (squarewithin a square) may also
be marked on the appliance. Failure to have
the unit repaired by your authorized service
dealer can cause the double ins ulation con-
struction to become ineffectiv e and result in
serious injury.

BLOWER SAFETY

WARNING:Never put hands orother
objects into blower housing to avoid serious
injury from the rotating impeller.
WARNING: Inspect the area before
using the unit. Remove all debris and hard
objects such as rocks, glass, wire, etc., that

SNever place objects inside t he discharge
opening; always direct the blowing debris
awayfrom people, animals, glass, and solid
objects such as trees, automobiles, walls,
etc.The force of air can causerocks, dirt, or
sticks to be thrown or to ricochet which can
hurt people or animals, break glass, or
cause other damage.
SCheck air intake opening frequently. Keep
vents and discharge opening free of debris
which can accumulate and restrict proper
air flow.
SNever place any object in air intake opening
asthis could restrict proper air flow and cause
damage to the unit.
SNeverus e for spreading chemicals, fertiliz-
ers,or other substances which may cont ain
toxic materials.
SToavoid spreading fi re, do not use near leaf
or brush fires, fireplaces, barbecue pits,
ashtrays, etc.
SWear hearing protection.
