STARTINGA WARM ENGINE

1. Movethe choke lever to the OPEN posi-
tion.
2. Squeezethrottle trigger and turn throttle
adjuster clockwise until it stops.
3. Pullstarterrope sharply until engine runs.
4. Turnthrottleadjuster counterclockwise to
allow unit to idle.

DIFFICULTSTARTING(or starting a

floodedengine)

1. Movethe choke lever to the OPEN posi-
tion.
2. Squeezethrottle trigger and turn throttle
adjuster clockwise until it stops.
3. Pullrope to clear engi ne of excess fuel.
This could require pulling the starter rope
many times. Continueto pull rope until
enginestar ts.
4. Turnthrottleadjuster counterclockwise to
release throttle trigger and allow unit to
idle.

BLOWER OPERATION

Whenthe engine has warmedup, the blow er
canbe positioned on the back of the operator.
Once the blower is positioned and ready for
operation, utilize the throttle trigger to main-
tainan operating speed necessary to accom-
plish thetask.
NOTE:Always run the engine at idle speed
fora few minutes to allow cooling befor estop-
ping the engine.
SERVICE
WARNING: Avoid touching muffler
unless engine and muffler are cold. A hot
mufflercan cause serious burns.

CLEANAIR FILTER

Cleaningthe airfilt er:
A dirty air filter decreases engine perform-
ance and increases fuel consumption and
harmful emissions. Always clean or r eplace
air filter after every 5 hours of operation or
yearly,whi chever comes first.
1. Cleanthecover andthe area around it to
keepdebr is from falling into the carbure-
tor chamberw henthe cover is removed.
2. Remove parts as illustrated.
NOTE:Do not clean filter in gasoline or other
flammablesolvent. D oings o can createa fi re
hazardor produce harmful evaporativeemis-
sions.
3. Washthe filter in soap and water.
4. Allow filter to dry.
5. Apply a few drops of oil to the filter;
squeeze filter to distribute oil.
6. Replaceparts.

REPLACESPARK PLUG

Replace spark plug each year to ensure the
engine starts easier and runs better. Set
sparkplug gap at 0.020 inch. Ignition ti ming is
fixed, nonadjustable.
1. Twist, then pull off spark plug boot.
2. Removesparkplug from cylinder and dis-
card.
3. Replacewith Champion R CJ-6Y spark
plug and tighten securely with a 3/4 inch
socketwrench.
4. Reinstallthe spark plug boot.

CARBURETORADJUSTMENTS

Yourcarburetor is equipped with limitercaps .
Carburetoradjustment is a complicatedtask.
