instructed in this manual. Various adjust-
ments will need to be made periodically to

Contact an authorized service dealer for re-
placement of damaged or worn parts.
SON/STOPSwitch --Ensure ON/STOPswitch
functions properly by moving the switch to the
STOPposition. Makesur e engine stops; then
restart engine and continue.
SFuelTank -- Do not use unit if fuel tank shows
signs of damage or leaks.

SAfter each use, inspect complete unit for
looseor damaged parts. Cleanthe unit and
decalsusing a damp c loth with a mild deter-
gent.
SWipeoff unit w ith a clean dry cloth.

CLEAN AIR FILTER

Cleaning the air filter:
A dirty air filter decreases engine perform-
ance and increases fuel consumption and
harmful emissions. Always clean or replace
air filter after every 20 hours of operation or
yearly, whichever comes first.
NOTE: Toavoid damage, do not w ash the
paperair filter with water. Do not us e pressur-
izedair to c lean or dry the air filter. Always re-
place a damaged air filter.
1. Clean the c over and the area around it to
keep debris from falling into the carbure-
tor chamber when the cover is removed.
2. Remov e parts as illustrated.
3. Clean the air filter by gently tapping to re-
move dust and debris.
4. Replac e parts.

As the unit is used, carbon deposits build up
on the muffler and spark arresting screen,
andmust be r emoved to avoid creating a fire
hazard or affecting engine performance.
Replace the spark arresting sc reen every 50
hoursof operat ionor if any damage or break s in
the screen are noted.
NOTE:Do not attempt to clean the s park ar-
resting screen.
1. Loos en and remove two screws from the
heat shield. Remove the heat shield.
2. Loos en and remove both muffler screws
and the mufflerfrom the unit.

Tightens crews securely.
6. Reins tall heat shield and two screws.
Tightens crews securely.
NOTE: If any part of the muffler is cracked,
broken or damaged, we recommend that the
mufflerbe replac ed.
