ON/STOPSWITCH

The ON/STOP switch is located on the trigger
handle and is used to stop the engine. To stop
the engine, push and release the engine
ON/STOPswitch.

PRIMER BULB

ThePRIMER B ULB removes air f rom the car-
buretor and fuel lines and fills them with fuel.
Thisallow s you to start the engine with fewer
pulls on the starter rope. Activate the primer
bulbby pres sing it and allowing it to return to
its original form.

STARTLEVER

The START LEVER helps to supply fuel to the
engine to aid in starting. Activate the starting
systemby moving thestart lever to theSTART
position. DO NOT squeeze the throttle trigger
until the engine has started and runs. After the
engine starts, allow the engine to warm--up
10--15 seconds, then fully squeeze the throttle
trigger to deactivate the starting sy stem.

COUPLER

The COUPLER enables optional attach-
ments to be installed on the unit.

gin.If you do not understand the safety rules,
do not attempt to fuel your unit. Call

FUELING ENGINE

WARNING: Remov ef uel cap slowly
when refueling.
HELPFUL TIP
Toobtain the correct oil mix
ratio, pour 3.2 ounces of
2--cycle synthetic oil into
onegallon of f resh gas.
This engine is certified to operate onunleaded
gasoline. Before operation, gasoline mus t be
mixed with a good quality synthetic 2-cyc leair-
cooledengine oil d esigned to be mixed at a ratio
of 40:1. Poulan/WEED EATER brand synthetic
oilis recommended. Mix gasoline and oil at a ra-
tioof 40: 1. A 40:1 ratio is obtaine d by mixing 3.2
fluid ounces (95 ml) of oil with 1 gallon (4 liters)
ofunleaded gasoline. DO NOT U SE automotive
oil or marine oil. These oils will cause engine
damage. When mixing fuel, follow instruc tions
printedon c ontainer. Once oil is added to gaso-
line,shak e container momentarily to ass ure that
the fuel is thoroughly mixed. Always read and
followthe s afety rules relating to fuel before fuel-
ing your unit.
CAUTION: Never use straight gasoline in
your unit. This will cause permanent engine
damage and void the limited warranty.

FUEL REQUIREMENTS

This engine requires the use of minimum 87
octane [R+M]/2 clean gasoline.

IMPORTANT

Use of alcohol blended fuels (called gas ohol or
usingethanol o r methanol) can cause major en-
gine performance and durability problems.
