CORRECTING CALCULATION ERRORS

E (error) appears at the upper left of the display when:

A calculation result exceeds 10 dig- its (this is an overflow error see “Estimating Calculation Results”).

A memory calculation exceeds 10 digits (the memory contents remain unchanged).

You try to divide by 0.

If E appears, press AC to clear the er- ror.

ESTIMATING CALCULATION RESULTS

If you perform an operation that results in an overflow error, you can estimate the approximate value (to 10 significant digits) by following this procedure.

1.Count the number of digits dis- played to the left of the decimal point.

2.Remove the decimal point.
