Glossary

Cal factor

Calibration factor. Used in ST40 Speed and Bidata instruments to ensure

 

the current speed reading is the actual speed. Values are from 0.25 (reduce

 

speed reading) to 2.5 (increase speed reading).

EMC

Electromagnetic Compatibility.

KPH

Kilometres Per Hour.

KTS

Knots.

MPH

Miles Per Hour.

NM

Nautical Miles.

Response

Determines the rate at which an instrument responds to changes in boat

 

speed. Values are from 1 (slow response) to 15 (fast response).

SeaTalk

SeaTalk is a proprietary Raymarine system which links different

 

compatible products, to provide a single, integrated navigational system.

 

SeaTalk can also communicate with non-SeaTalk equipment using the

 

internationally- accepted National Marine Electronics Association

 

(NMEA) protocol. Contact your Raymarine dealer for details.
