Essential V-Drum Elements

In making the world’s finest electronic drum kits, Roland has mastered these key performance elements: comfort, pinpoint accuracy, full-spectrum sensitivity, realistic positional control, and stunning sound quality. In harmony, these elements combine to create the world-famous V-Drums experience.

Beyond Specs —

Tapping Into the Intangible

Memory size and sampling rate alone do not determine the actual sound quality of an electronic musical instrument. Roland looks at sound quality on a higher level. In addition to pristine audio capture and modeling, we believe that the quality of source instrument, the skill of the sampling-session player, the quality of the studio and recording equipment, and many other intangible factors add up to give V-Drums an unbeatable edge.

Unmatched Power, Articulation, & Sensitivity

The V-Drums magic begins with the location and strength of the stick on the pad, as well as the intervals of the strokes. From weak to strong, from the center of the pad to the edge, from single-shots to rolls, your performance data is translated with lightning-fast accuracy by the V-Drums’ central processor.

*Detection of hitting position and interval is only possible on the TD-20/12

Here you can change the size of your cymbal from 1 inch to 40 inches.

Add realistic sizzle to your cymbal with modeled rivets or a chain.

*The TD-12 only has rivets.

Choose the placement of your virtual microphones. *Only possible on the TD-20.

Add realistic snare drum buzz to give your kits even more expression. The

amount of buzz* (the resonance created on the tom and bass drum) can be

varied to get just the right effect. *Adjustment of buzz amount is possible only on the TD-20.

*The TD-12 can only switch the buzz on and off.
