CLEANING AND STORAGE
WARNING
Always turn off your trimmer before you clean or perform any maintenance on it.
Cleaning
Use a small brush to clean off the outside of the trimmer. Do not use strong detergents on plastic housing or handle. They can be damaged by household cleaners that contain aromatic oils such as pine and lemon, and by solvents such as kerosene. Wipe off any moisture with a soft cloth.
Storage
If the trimmer will be stored for an extended period of time, use the following storage procedure.
1.Drain all fuel from the fuel tank. Do not use fuel that has been stored for more than 60 days.
2.Start the engine and allow it to run until it stalls. This ensures that all fuel has been drained from the carbu- retor.
3.Drain the oil from the crankcase and add fresh oil. Pull the starter rope a few times to lubricate the engine.
4.Thoroughly clean the unit and inspect for any loose or damaged parts. Repair or replace damaged parts and tighten loose screws, nuts or bolts.
The unit is now ready for storage.
