AAL5 ATM Adaptation Layer type 5
ADSL Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line. Telephon e line with asymmetric
rates (upstream rate: 32 to 896 kbit/s; downstream rate: 32 to
8160 kbit/s)
ARP Address Resolution Protocol. Protocol used to determine an IP
address from a Ethernet address
ATM Asynchronous Transfer Mode
ATU-C ADSL Termination Unit Central office end. Th is refers to ADSL
equipment at the switching center end (of the network operator)
ATU-R ADSL Termination Unit Remote terminal end. This r efers to ADSL
