Connections

Connecting to an AV Device

Using an HDMI or HDMI/DVI cable: HD connection (up to 720p/1080i)
We recommend using the HDMI connection for the best quality HD picture.
Available devices: DVD player, Blu-ray player, HD cable box, HD STB (Set-Top-Box) satellite receiver.
HDMI IN 1(DVI), 2, DVI AUDIO IN

When using an HDMI/DVI cable connection, you must use the HDMI IN 1(DVI) jack for video. A DVD player,
Blu-ray player, HD cable box, or HD STB satellite re ceiver may require a DVI-HDMI (DVI to HD MI) cable or
DVI-HDMI (DVI to HDMI) adapter. You must use the PC/DVI AUDI O IN jack for audio. The DVI AUDIO IN jac k
is required for audio.

The picture may not display nor mally (if at all) or the audio may not wo rk if an external device that us es an
older version of HDMI mode to the T V. If such a problem occurs, ask the man ufacturer of the external devi ce
about the HDMI version and, i f out of date, request an upgrade.

Be sure to purchase a certif ied HDMI cable. Otherwi se, the picture may not display or a conn ection error may
occu r.
Using a Component (up to 720p/1080i) or an Audio/Video (480i only) Cable
Available devices: DVD player, Blu-ray player, cable box, STB satellite receiver, VCR
When connecting to AV IN, the color of the AV IN [Y/VIDEO] jac k (green) will not match the video cabl e (yellow).
For better picture quality, the Component connection is recommended over the A/V connection.
