Senzor slike

Fizički dio digitalnog fotoaparata koji sadrži photosite za svaki piksel na slici. Svaki photosite snima svjetlinu svjetla koje ga udara tijekom ekspozicije. Uobičajene vrste senzora su CCD (nabojem spregnuti sklop) i CMOS (komplementarni metal-oksidni poluvodič).

ISO osjetljivost

Osjetljivost fotoaparata na svjetlo, na temelju ekvivalentne brzine filma koji se koristi u filmskoj kameri. Na višim postavkama ISO osjetljivosti, fotoaparat koristi veću brzinu okidača, što može smanjiti zamagljenost uzrokovanu podrhtavanjem fotoaparata i slabim osvjetljenjem. Međutim, slike s visokom osjetljivošću su osjetljivije na šum.

JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)

Rasipajući način kompresije digitalnih slika. JPEG slike su kompresirane kako bi se smanjila njihova ukupna veličina s minimalnim pogoršanjem razlučivosti slike.

LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)

Vizualni prikaz najčešće korišten u potrošačkoj elektronici. Za ovaj prikaz je potrebno posebno pozadinsko osvjetljenje, kao što je CCFL ili LED, za reproduciranje boja.

Snimanje izbliza

Format videozapisa koji je kompresiran kao JPEG slika.

Šum

Pogrešno protumačeni pikseli na digitalnoj slici koji se mogu pojaviti kao pogrešno postavljeni ili slučajni, svijetli pikseli. Šum se obično javlja kada su fotografije snimljene uz visoku osjetljivost ili kada je osjetljivost automatski postavljena na tamnom mjestu.

OIS (Optička stabilizacija slike)

Ova značajka kompenzira u realnom vremenu podrhtavanje i vibriranje tijekom snimanja. Nema degradacije slike u odnosu na značajku digitalne stabilizacija slike.
