Minőség

Digitális képeknél alkalmazott tömörítési arányt jellemző fogalom. A jobb minőségű képek alacsonyabb tömörítési aránnyal készülnek, ami rendszerint nagyobb fájlméretet eredményez.

Felbontás

A digitális képen található képpontok száma. A nagy felbontású képek több képpontot tartalmaznak, és rendszerint részletesebb látványt nyújtanak, mint az alacsony felbontású képek.

Zársebesség

A zársebesség a rekesz nyitásához és zárásához használt időt jelzi, és kulcsfontosságú szerepe van az elkészített fénykép fényerejének meghatározásában, mivel ez a paraméter szabályozza a rekesznyíláson keresztül a képérzékelőhöz jutó fény mennyiségét. A gyorsabb zársebesség kevesebb időt biztosít a fény bejutásához, így a fénykép sötétebb lesz, ugyanakkor könnyebben rögzíthetők a mozgásban lévő témák és fotóalanyok.

Címkézés

Ezzel a funkcióval csökkenthető a kép széleinek a kép középpontjához viszonyított fényerőssége vagy színtelítettsége. A címkézés funkcióval kiemelhetők a kép középpontjában elhelyezkedő témák illetve fotóalanyok.

Fehéregyensúly (szín egyensúly)

Ezzel a funkcióval állíthatók be egy kép színeinek (jellemzően az elsődleges színeknek, úgymint piros, zöld és kék) az intenzitása. A fehéregyensúly beállításának célja a kép színeinek megfelelő renderelése.
