Nedanstående ekvation används för att beräkna bländarvärdet för blixtavstånd.

Använt bländarvärde F = ledtal ÷ fotograferingsavstånd

Exempel)

När känsligheten är [ISO 200] och fotograferingsavståndet är 6.1 m, är bländarvärdet:

F = 18.4 ÷ 6.1 = 3

Om resultatet (3 i exemplet ovan) inte ﬁnns som objektivbländare, används i allmänhet nästa mindre siffra (2,8 i exemplet ovan).

Beräkning av fotograferingsavstånd baserat på bländarvärdet

■Nedanstående ekvation används för att beräkna blixtavståndet för bländarvärden.

Längsta blixtavstånd L1 = ledtal ÷ vald bländare Kortaste blixtavstånd L2 = längsta blixtavstånd L1 ÷ 5*

*Värdet 5 i formeln ovan är ett fast värde som bara gäller när den inbyggda blixten används ensam.

När känsligheten är [ISO 200] och bländarvärdet är F4

L1 = 18.4 ÷ 4 = ung. 4.6 (m)

L2 = 4.6 ÷ 5 = ung. 0.9 (m)

Blixten kan därför användas inom området 0.9 till 4.6 m. Blixten kan inte användas om avståndet till motivet är kortare än 0.8 m. Om blixten används på kortare avstånd än 0.8 m, fås vinjettering i bildens hörn, ljuset fördelas ojämnt och bilden kan bli överexponerad.
