My Camera > Shooting modes

Program mode

The camera automatically adjusts shutter speed and aperture value so that an optimal exposure value can be achieved.

This mode is useful when you want to capture shots of constant exposure while being able to adjust other settings.

1On the Mode screen, touch Expert Program.

2Set the desired options.

For a list of options, refer to "Shooting Functions". (p. 73)

3Half-press [Shutter] to focus, and then press [Shutter] to capture the photo.

Program Shift

Program Shift function lets you adjust the shutter speed and aperture value while the camera maintains the same exposure. In Shooting mode, press the command dial once, and then rotate it anti-clockwise to decrease the shutter speed and increase the aperture value. Conversely, press the command dial once, and then rotate it clockwise to increase the shutter speed and decrease the aperture value.
