Punkt

Punktmodus beregner mengden lys i midten. Når du tar et bilde i omgivelser der det er sterk bakgrunnsbelysning bak et motiv, justerer kameraet eksponeringen slik at motivet blir fotografert riktig. Når du for eksempel velger modusen Multi i omgivelser med sterk bakgrunnsbelysning, beregner kameraet at den generelle mengden lys er rikelig, noe som fører til et mørkere bilde. Punktmodus kan forhindre denne situasjonen siden mengden lys beregnes i et bestemt område.

Motivet er i klare farger mens bakgrunnen er mørk. Punktmodus anbefales for en situasjon som dette, der det er stor forskjell i eksponering mellom motivet og bakgrunnen.

Sentervektet

I sentervektet modus beregnes et bredere område enn i punktmodus. Mengden lys i den midtre delen av bildet (60–80 %) legges sammen, og lysmengden i resten av bildet (20–40 %) legges sammen. Modusen anbefales i situasjoner der det er en liten forskjell i lysstyrke mellom motivet og bakgrunnen, eller der et område av motivet er stort sammenlignet med den generelle sammensetningen av bildet.
