Effettua la ricerca del PTY come tipo di programma della stazione emittente.
Se la stazione non trasmette informazioni PTY, sul display comparirà la scritta "NO PTY".
Quando si seleziona la modalità PTY (sul display compare la scritta "PTY MODE"), premere di nuovo (una sola volta) il tasto PTY per ritornare alla modalità 
Se la modalità PTY ricevuta durante la ricerca automatica corrisponde alla modalità PTY selezionata, la ricerca automatica si interrompe e la funzione
