System und Wartung > Geräte-Manager > Modem, und kontrollieren Sie, ob das Gerät mit einem gelben Ausrufezeichen gekennzeichnet ist. Die Kennzeichnung mit einem Ausrufezeichen bedeutet, dass der Modemtreiber nicht richtig installiert ist. In diesem Fall entfernen Sie die installierten Gerätetreiber, und installieren Sie ihn erneut.

Wenn das Modem nicht mit einem gelben Ausrufezeichen markiert ist, doppelklicken Sie auf das installierte Modem, und wählen Sie die

Registerkarte Diagnose > Modem abfragen, um die Diagnose durchzuführen. Wenn auf diesen Befehl hin keine Reaktion eintritt, ist das Modem offenbar gestört.

Starten Sie in diesem Fall das System neu, oder installieren Sie den Modemtreiber neu und führen Sie dann noch einmal eine Modemdiagnose durch.
