cuando los controles ActiveX no están instalados las aplicaciones no se inician o no se muestran correctamente.

En ese caso, para instalar controles ActiveX, haga clic con el botón derecho en el área de notificación para que se muestre un menú desde el que puede seleccionar la opción Instalar control ActiveX.

P3 Cuando se muestra un icono de Alerta de Seguridad de Windows () en la parte derecha de la barra de tareas.

Con la nueva función Centro de seguridad, Windows XP SP2 comprueba el servidor de seguridad, la configuración de las actualizaciones automáticas y la instalación de programas antivirus de manera que muestra un icono de Alerta de Seguridad de Windows en la parte derecha de la barra de tareas cuando considera que el sistema es vulnerable a ataques desde Internet. En ese caso, compruebe lo siguiente para instalar los componentes necesarios.

R1 Configure el Firewall de Windows.

Configure el Firewall de Windows, quedará protegido de accesos no autorizados desde Internet o la red.

1.Haga clic en Windows Firewall en Inicio > Panel de control > Centro de seguridad > Administrar la configuración de seguridad.

2.Seleccione Activar en la ficha General del Firewall de Windows (recomendado).

3.Si desea permitir que un programa o servicio determinados tengan acceso al sistema con el Firewall, seleccione y márquelos en la ficha Excepciones del Firewall de Windows. Si desea agregar un programa a Programas y servicios, haga clic en Agregar programa y selecciónelo.

R2 Configure las Actualizaciones automáticas de Windows.

Con ello se descargan e instalan actualizaciones críticas automáticamente a través de Internet para mantener el sistema actualizado.

1.Haga clic en Actualizaciones automáticas en Inicio > Panel de control > Centro de seguridad > Administrar la configuración de seguridad.

2.Seleccione Activar en la ficha General de Actualizaciones automáticas (recomendado).

R3 Mantenga el sistema actualizado con las definiciones de virus más modernas. (ejemplo: Norton Antivirus)

Aunque haya instalado Norton Antivirus en el sistema, Windows no puede reconocerlo hasta que no lo configure y mostrará un icono de Alerta de seguridad.

Cuando use o instale Norton Antivirus por primera vez, siga los pasos del Asistente para registro para configurar los valores de registro.
