2.Haga doble clic en el icono ( ) del programa LAN inalámbrico en la barra de tareas.

Si lo desea, puede hacer clic en Inicio > Todos los programas > Intel PROSet Wireless > Intel PROSet Wireless.

3.En Redes disponibles, haga clic en Actualizar.

4.Seleccione el nombre de un punto de acceso al que conectarse desde la lista de redes disponibles y haga clic en Conectar.

Si una red no aparece, haga clic en Actualizar.

5.Introduzca una clave WEP y haga clic en el botón Aceptar.

Nota. La ventana Configuración de seguridad inalámbrica puede ser diferente, según la configuración de seguridad de la aplicación.

Haga clic en el botón Avanzado para configurar la autentificación de red, el cifrado de datos, etc. Si desea más información sobre la configuración de la seguridad, pregunte a su administrador de redes inalámbricas.

Consulte la configuración avanzada, haciendo clic en el botón Avanzado.

Autentificación de red: Las opciones de autentificación de red incluyen Sistema abierto y Clave compartida. Al seleccionar sistemas abiertos, no se aplica autentificación alguna (sin embargo, se admite el cifrado). Al seleccionar la clave compartida, se utiliza una clave WEP para la autentificación. La configuración predeterminada es Sistema abierto.

Cifrado de datos (WEP): El estándar IEEE 802.11 WEP (Privacidad cableada

equivalente) define dos niveles de cifrado: clave de 64 bits (de 40 bits en ciertos casos) y clave de 128 bits.

Índice de clave: Seleccione, entre 1 y 4, el índice de clave de cifrado actual utilizado por el punto de acceso.

Uso de una clave de cifrado: Haga clic en Utilizar una contraseña para activarla e introduzca 5 (en el caso de claves de 64 bits) o 13 (para claves de 128 bits) caracteres alfanuméricos (compuestos por 0-9,a-z o A-Z).

6.Cuando aparezca la ventana Completado, haga clic en Aceptar.

Cuando se establece una conexión inalámbrica con un punto de acceso, aparece el icono de conexión () delante del nombre del perfil conectado.
